Climate neutral
Climate change is currently one of the greatest challenges. We are taking responsibility and making a concrete contribution to climate protection:
In cooperation with ClimatePartner, we produce our coloring paints and colored pencils in a climate-neutral way. Climate-neutral means that we have recorded all the Co₂ emissions of our crayons and colored pencils and offset them via a recognized climate protection project.
Climate neutral in 4 steps
-
1. Calculate Co₂
Together with ClimatePartner, we calculate all Co₂ emissions caused by the production, transport, and packaging of the stains and colored pencils. -
2. Avoid and reduce Co₂
Through self-commitment and certifications, we ensure that we contribute to the protection of the environment. Products such as wood-free colored pencils and FSC-certified paper products have long been part of the STYLEX range. -
3. Co₂ balance
We offset all unavoidable emissions via a climate protection project for forest conservation in April Salumei, Papua New Guinea. -
4. Labeling as climate neutral
All coloring paints and colored pencils are marked climate neutral with the ClimatePartner label. You can track the Co₂ offset via the ID number at www.climatepartner.com/13529-1908-1001.
Our Climate Protection Project Forest Protection Pará, Brazil 2021
It is a special and very unique ecosystem, the "Várzea" in Pará at the mouth of the Amazon. The island of Marajó is crisscrossed by waterways, and for centuries the landscape has been shaped by small farmers. The Amazon River, as a transport artery, favors agriculture and cattle breeding - which in turn brings with it more and more deforested areas.
On more than 86,000 hectares, the Ecomapuá project protects the forest and prohibits commercial logging. For the 400 local families, it creates alternative sources of income, for example through trade in the açaí fruit. This fruit is not only popular in Brazil, but is also increasingly in demand as a superfood in industrialized countries. Because the project thus promotes development in one of the poorest regions in northeastern Brazil, it is also certified with the Social Carbon Standard in addition to the Verified Carbon Standard.

2020: Our Climate Protection Project Forest Protection Salumei Papuaneuguinea
Climate protection projects have been proven to save greenhouse gases, for example through reforestation or renewable energies. In April Salumei, indigenous communities are protecting 600,000 hectares of primary rainforest that had already been cleared for logging. In this way, they preserve their own livelihoods, while at the same time preserving habitats for countless animal and plant species - and rainforest as an important Co₂ reservoir.
